Comparison of CSRCompiler Input Formats
Several input formats are in use today for register and address map definition, including IP-XACT, SystemRDL and spreadsheet CSV. Each has an intended purpose, and often an input format is contorted and expected to be successful in ways never intended. Semifore’s CSRSpec language was developed to overcome just this problem. It is not only a superset of ALL industry standard formats – it is also the next generation address map authoring format.
